Absolute Euphoria

Went to Takashimaya on Saturday to join the horde of people shopping there. It was so crowded that we lost interest in shopping all together. As we are walking around for dinner, we came across this Godiva booth selling chocolate drinks (outside Cold Storage). I told Audrey, we must try this after dinner. So, off we went for dinner and we came back for this chocolate drink. I been wanting to try this when I heard of it, but never got the chance as they only serve this at Citylink outlet. Well, now its my chance as they setup a temporary booth here.

Here is a picture of the mneu which has only 3 items on its list.

We decided to go with Dark Chocolate Decadence, as the latte has coffee and the white chocolate, well, its not really chocolate since there isn't any cocoa in it.

Dark Chocolate Decadence

OMG! This drink is simply divine.
You can feel the chocolate high after a few sips. This is a great pick-me-up if you are feeling down. Even if you are not feeling down, its an absolutely sinful but delicious drink!
YUM!YUM!YUM!

IKEA Tampines

We decided to drop by IKEA at Tampines after our dinner. We been to Giant (across IKEA) twice but this is the first time we going IKEA. I was expecting large crowd of people but to my surprise, there isn't really alot. I think most of them are at Giant.

We were told that there are carpark lots that are meant for families, and we kept a look-out for them as we are looking for parking space. We found them near the entrance. I think its a pretty cool idea and its the little thing like these that make you appreciate them more. I just hope that there are no selfish Singaporeans (with no real use of those parking lots) that parked there just because its nearer to the entrance. Sigh, guess its just wishful thinking?

Family-Friendly Parking Lots

Hmm.... there are even parking lots for trolleys and shopping bags. Nice.

Very large self-service section and that's just half of it.

All-in-all, I think that IKEA Tampines is really big since it took us about 90 mins to walk finish the whole place and all we got was a basket and a towel (which we use as floor mat). But I still prefer IKEA Alexander, I think it provide me a more cosy feeling.

Btw, do you know that IKEA is top 5 richest people around?

Big Fish

Before you panic and think its a picture of a big fish, fear not!
It's actually the name of a restaurant.

Been wanting to try this restaurant for sometime now. Its located a short walk from our place. Finally decided to give it a try tonight. Boy, did I regret not coming here sooner.

Big Fish Restaurant serves fish and various seafood
(Duh!, hence the name?).
It took us sometime before deciding on what we want to eat.

First up, white baits!
Definitely one of the best. Its crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Taste great with Tartar sauce (which is meant for our main dish).

Next is our seafood chowder with bread. Bread is very good, think its bake with rosemary herb in it. Seafood chowder is thick and creamy but without the overwhelming seafood taste. Soup comes with a mussel, a prawn, some bits of squid and fish chunks.

Classic Fish and Chips. Served with garden salad and fries. This has now become my official fish and chip benchmark. Very Yum!

Another one of our main dish. Barramundi fish. You can choose between pan-fried or grilled. In this case, I choosed pan-fried. Fish is served with garden salad, vegetables & mushrooms (under the fish), mash potatoes, sprinkled in olive oil, balsamic vinegar and some other stuff. This was recommneded by the waiter, as he said, this fish is really soft and quite smooth. *Made a mistake and went to see what is a Barramundi fish look like... hhmm... don't look so nice. For anyone who is interested, you can check it out on Wikipedia.

Picture of part of the restaurant near closing time. Almost everything is painted with this aqua-marine color, sort of blue mixed with green.

Definitely must try! Expect to pay about $20-30 per head.

Polar Bear Cub, Ain't He Cute?

A file photo of polar bear cub Knut playing in the Berlin zoo in this undated picture, released on March 2, 2007. Berlin Zoo rallied to the defence of Knut on Tuesday, rejecting demands that the animal be allowed to die after being abandoned by its mother. (Handout/Archiv Zoo Berlin/Reuters)

Love it or Hate It?

Send my car in for repair at SM Motors today.
Saw this new Volvo C30 on display.

The car has a very interesting look, well, its either you like it or you don't. Personally, I think the head area looks like the typical Volvo on the roads theseday, but the back is a whole different story. I am still trying to get used to this new butt!

The Five Rules of Money for Children

Came across this article on BusinessWeek.com, called The Five Rules of Money for Children. It offers methods of communicating the concept of money to children. Basically, this article touches on:

1. A penny saved is a penny earned.
2. Stick to the budget.
3. Learn the power of interest.
4. Stay out of debt.
5. Giving back is the best gift.

I think even adults can learn a thing or two from this article.
