Singapore Food Fest 2007

This is the view that greeted us when we enter the exhibition hall for Singapore Food Fest 2007 at Singapore Expo. I think this was about 1 hr from closing and there are still so many people... and quite smokey from all the cooking going on.

View from the other end of the exhibition hall. Its 9.30pm, 30mins before closing and there are still so many hungry people around???

Snow Ice Mango, from Taiwan apparently. The ice is shaved to very soft and thin but the mango is abit artificial and sweet. Hmm.. let's just say that this would likely be the one and only time I am gonna eat this...

At the end of this 1 hr trip, we bought some chocolate, biscuits, snow ice, durian puffs, pomegranate tea drink, liang char and some free sauages!!

Sweet Machines...

Stumbled upon these sweet cars in Millenia Walk. I thought I saw this car on ECP before but I didn't get a good view of it. Now I do, its a Pagani Zonda and it cost over 2 bloody million Singapore dollars!!! *mutters* rich *mutters* buggers *mutters* *mutters*

Apparantly, there is an event going on with Torque magazine and they features several exotic cars but I only managed to see these 4.

Kyomomoyama @ The Central

Got a 1-for-1 set dinner promo from Standard Chartered bank for dinner at Kyomomoyama. Its located at the new shopping mall called The Central. So we decided to head there for dinner today as the promo only valid for Monday to Thursday. We also decide to treat Kelly (Audrey's Cousin) as she has been a great help for the whole week (while I was in ICT).

Good thing I called in advanced and booked a table by the window, so we can get a view of Clark Quay. There are only 4 tables by the window and they are all reserved. After scanning through the menu, we decided to have the set dinner(duh, for the promo?!) and Kelly ordered a Tempura Udon and a side dish of Dobin Mushi to share.

Kyomomoyama Menu

Genmai Cha - Green Tea with Roasted Brown Rice. Taste a little burnt initially but it grows on you as you drink.

Sakura Set - Comes with Sashimi, Tempura, Chawanmushi, Miso Soup, Pickled Vegetables and Fruits

Audrey and Kelly and our wide array of food.

Food is really good. But the price is slightly expensive, above average. Definitely worth it to give it a try.

DocGreen @ Centerpoint

Just got out of in-camp training (5 days long long days) and we decided to go Centerpoint, to look at some baby stuffs. And as usual, we have to look for a dinner place where we can warm up Callum's milk and tuck-in ourselves.

So we decided to try the new place called DocGreen at Centerpoint new annex block. After pondering the menu, we decided on 2 half sandwiches and add-on of 2 soups.

Here is a picture of our soups, onion soup & chicken noodle soup. Add-on price is 2 bucks.

This is my sandwich, half portion of California Chicken.... they all looked the same. Hhmm.. potato chips, how healthy can that be?? Trans Fat!!!

This is Audrey's sandwich, half portion of Portobello Shroom Sandwich. Can you see the portobello? Apparantly, there's only 1 miserable mushroom hiding under the bread....

After seeing our miserable sandwiches, we decided to order salad (grilled vegetables). Its not too bad, but hardly worth the price.

Overall, I think the food is ok but not worth the price. Perhaps if its a little cheaper, I might consider going back there.

Self Service

Our little boy is learning how to hold his own bottle. On 3rd May, while Audrey was feeding him, he decided that he wants to hold his own food. However, his hands don't seem to be able to grasp the bottle properly.

So we decided to help him a little and we got him a holding aid. It's a plastic handle attached to the bottle so that he can hold better.

I guess he needs to learn how to tilt the bottle at the right angle so that he can drink better...

Callum First Taste of Medicine

Poor Callum is sick.

He caught some germs over the weekend (I think) and he is now down with running nose and cough. He gave us a good scare last night when he suddenly "choke" in the middle of the night. Poor mommy have to dash out of bed to make sure he is ok.

We went to see the doctor today and he was prescribed with some medicine for his nose, phelghem and cough. Poor kid.

Imperial Treasure La Mian Xiao Long Bao

We wanted to go Bugis as we haven't been there for awhile. I drove all the way there to find that Bugis is jammed pack. The carpark has long queue going in... ?? What is going on there????

So, gave up the idea of going Bugis, went to Marina instead. Grab some coffee, wander around abit and we settle down for dinner. Choice of the day: Imperial Treasure La Mian Xiao Long Bao. Why? Just wanted to give it a try and compare them with Crystal Jade (since the boss was from there)

Menu looks almost idential to Crystal Jade La Mian, so we ordered the usual items we eat at Crystal Jade, as it would be easier to compare. Here is our dinner:

Onion Oil La Mian and Braised Duck Tongue (First time trying, a tat salty but no duck taste, crunchy)

White Baits. Strange, in the receipt, they printed "Cri. Rice Fish/P.Salt"... I am wandering what the heck.... Crispy Rice Fish, Put Salt??? A bit Blend.

Wanton in Chilli and Vinegar.

Overall, I still prefer Crystal Jade La Mian.
I think it taste better and service at Crystal Jade is also better.

For anyone who wishs to give it a try:
