Thailand Trip 12-11-05 (Saturday)

Another early day for us.

Woke up at 7+am. Wanted to head down to Jatujak (Sunday Market) early to avoid the sweltering heat. Set out at about 8+am after some coffee and nibbles of whatever we can find.

Got to sunday market, shared a cab with Auntie Lucy, streams of ppl were there already. Phew! Talk about early birds. :D Unlike the both of us .... RE-LEK only. Hee!

Got stuck in this shop for the longest time and kenna nag by Pat. I was happily choosing accessories while Pat was standing outside the shop. End up i bought only 2 things but spent bout 1200 baht (S$50) from that shop for other reasons. Shopped around for more stuff, like tee-shirts for my bridesmaids and pat's groomsmen.

So tired that we stopped for lunch (Finally!). We had pork ball noodles in pig blood soup. Sounds gross but very YUMMY lor! Can't remember what it's called in Thai. After lunch, more shopping. Bought nothing much though. Headed home bout 3+pm cos Auntie Lucy has to attend the wedding dinner of one of my mum's staff.

Took a quick bath and followed my parents out. My mum got Pi Joy to alight us at Phloen Chit Skytrain Station. Next stop: Siam Skytrain Station. Had dinner at FUJI @ Siam Centre. This place serves GOOD and CHEAP Jap food (according to us sillyporeans lah) Then, again took the train to Chit Lom. 10 Baht each and ONE BLADDY STATION later, we adjorned to Big C. A hypermart like Carrefour in Singapore. Bought provision to bring lug back to Singapore. As usual, bought many, many bottles of coffee, 5x6 packs of soya bean drink, shampoo, soap and CHIPS for our next day road trip. Had a drink each from this place called MILK PLUS. IT HAS GOT TO BE THE SWEETEST MILK I HAVE EVER DRUNK! Me had Green Tea milk and Pat had chocolate milk.

Pi Joy picked us up from the hotel (Hotel Arnoma) next door. Totally shagged when we reached home. Went to bed almost immediately cos we had to get up REAL EARLY for the road trip.
ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzZZZZzzzzzzz ..............

Thailand Trip 11-11-05 (Friday)

Started the day at bout 8am bright and early.

Left for my dad's office with him. Need to get to the office to change money. No money, no talk lor, that's how this world works. Hanged around office for awhile. Played with my daddy's arowana which we helped "smuggled" to Thailand the previous trip. :D (ssshhhhhhh ...... It's a secret)

Anyways ...... got my cuz Pi Bom to send us to Emporium to catch Wallace & Gromit Movie. (Yeeeaaayyyy!!!!! The show has not started in Singapore yet! HA!)

Emporium

Sadly we got into a jam and he got disorientated. Took the wrong turn and we over shot the shopping centre. Still had to take the train which was only 1 friggin stop! Choice of theatre: SF Cinema City. Caught the 12.30pm session. But before that, had a bite had Salon De'L Oriental (Cafe opened by Oriental Hotel i think). They sell fantastic cookies and cakes! Yums! Always aim to eat there once when i'm there :p. Pat had Chicken Quiche and i has Spanich Quiche, washed it down with a cafe latte and long black

After the show, we headed down to our usual Thai massage haunt. Kornwan Thai Massage. It's situated at 18/13 Sukhumvit Road Soi 22. Take the BTS to Phrom Phong station and walk towards your left. You should see Soi 22. Plenty of Ang Mohs there. The skills are very good. 220 baht. Please tip the masseur hor. They have very low pay and depends mostly on tips. That would apply to any waiter and waiteress in Thailand as well. Your kindness is much appreciated.

Headed to the four faced buddha. Took a train down to Chit Lom Station which is only a stone throw away from the shrine. As usual, it's packed with tourists. ESPECIALLY HONGKONGERS. The procedure to pray the buddha? You pray from the main side and move clock-wise. Lighting a candle at the first side then placing a small flower wreath with 3 joss sticks as you go.

Daddy dearest finally called and wanted to meet us for dinner with 2 of his friends. Felt sorry for him, having to join in the jam for a whole bladdy hour before finally picking us up from Emporium. Headed to this seafood restaurant. Dad order enough food for 8 people even though there were only 5 of us. Fish maw soup, fish head steamboat, oyster egg omelette, stir-fry sliced fish, tempura morning glory, some fried greens (which i can't remember)barbecued scallop with minced pork in their shell, fruit platter and coconut ice cream. So how? Are you scared yet? I was.

After which, my dad's friend Uncle Lim, wanted to go play pool. So headed to Wild Wild West at Town In Town (very near my house). We were all so full and exhausted but not my tipsy dad and friend. They had more alcohol and nuts (AAAAARRRRRRRR!!!!! FOOD AGAIN!) Downing like almost half a bottle of Chivas at the restaurant, My dad still managed to beat Pat at pool who only had iced water throughout the night. ..... When you're good, you're good ...... :p Dad always tell Pat:" When i started playing snooker wwwaaaaaayyyy back then you were only in kindergarten ok?" Heh heh. That's dad for you. :) Uncle Lim, Uncle Lim, never quite see him this happening before. Tugging at girls' jeans! and flirtingly joking with them. Uncle Lim was slow at the beginning but soon caught up in pool skills downing another 2-3 mugs of beer. He was on a roll manz! Beat Pat & my dad at pool! *Gosh! I pity all their liver.*

One thing i hated about that place are the girls who threw themselves at guys. All flirty and chatty. Puui! Dad told them that i was his daughter and Pat is his son-in-law. She just replied:" No, dun lie. Can't be!" (Of cos all in Thai lar) And then flirted somemore! What the heck is that suppose to mean??!! My dad dun look that young or i look too old to be his daughter?! WTF! Regreted for being passive after that comment.

Finally they decided to call it a day @ friggin 1.30am! It was a loooonnnnggg day. Happy to head home and sleep.

Sorry guys for the verbal diarrhea and no pics cos forgot to take. Hee.

Thailand Trip 10-11-05 (Thursday)

It's been a few months since we last went back to Bangkok.

This time around, we took Swiss Air instead of the usual Thai Airways. Cannot collect frequent flyer miles cos Swiss Air is not under Star Alliance. What can i say bout Swiss Air? They have a clean and plain approach to their architecture as well as their food. Just Check It Out!

Pat's Meal

Aud's Meal

Do you really consider this a meal? No, seriously.

They are both the same actually. I feel like a prisoner of some sort, being served food that looks doubious and dry. And cannot get to choose. You don't get to choose from "Chicken or "Fish, Mdm?" Just one kind: YUCKS! THE CHICKEN IS AS TOUGH AS AN ANCIENT COWHIDE! And the air steward told me to enjoy my meal?! Are you kidding me?!!

But we get to sit on Recaro Seats ok! Dun pray pray ah!

I know you can't really see the words but take my word for it. IT IS A BONA FIDE RECARO! :D Sorry that i have a "lao yah" camera. Soon to change that. Hee hee!

Arrived at bout 10+ in the night. Waited for yonks for my dad to come and pick us up. I swear i can die just inhaling the carbon monoxide @ the taxi pickup point. Ahhh ....... it's nice to be back in Bangkok. :D

Dad finally came after almost 45 mins worth of waiting time!! At least he remembered to come and pick us up despite his busy work schedule doing the new Bangkok Airport (Suvarnabhumi Airport)!

Brought us for a bite @ the new Tawandang branch near our house. Pat and my dad had beer which is freshly brewed at the restaurant and i had a Cantalope Freeze (I think .... yeah yeah, i cannot tolerate alcohol. Go ahead and laugh.). We then ordered Mixed Sausages, Tempura Morning Glory (Bet you dun get this in Singapore!) and fried cabbage. YUMS! It tons better then what we had on the plane. We were all stuffed when we left the place. It was closing time as well. Too bad we left our camera in the car, so can't take any pics.

This trip is gonna be quite nicely packed with things to do. There's our usual Massage @ Sukumvit Soi 22, Movie (We're gonna watch Wallace & Gromit! YEEAAAAHHHH!), Sunday Market, The Charity Road Trip and on the last day, Skin Doctor Appointment before rushing off to the airport to catch our afternoon flight ......

Stay tuned!

Wahahah! New Toy!

Finally, got my wind deflector for my car! For those who doesn't know what that is... its that black plastic along the top of the window. Had to special order from Germany as Singapore don't sell accessories for my car... *sigh*

I Stand Corrected!

I have just realised that my new favourite Pez sweet flavour is .......... *drum rolls please! BBBBBBrrrrrrrrrr* ORANGE!!!!!!

Not like what i say previously which was Strawberry. :D

But sadly they dun sell a whole pack of just a particular flavour.
So i have to buy ALL THE FLAVOURS. Oh well.

A pack of all the Pez sweet flavours.

Surprise Win

Wah Lau eh!

The Great Singapore Sale has been over and gone for how long liao ...... but got a surprise call from this makeover place called Naughty By Nature, saying that i won a consolation prize at the Singapore sale lucky draw, which is a free makeover session with them. Asked me if i remembered joining a lucky draw during the Great Singapore Sale. Hello!?! Does anyone actually remembers what lucky draw they enter?! This kinda thing, got to take it with a pinch of salt and ferget-about-it. They told me that i get to have 2 changes of clothing and get 2 FREE! (Woohoo! Big Deal.) pictures to bring home with me. No obligation. That's what all of them say.

So i made an appointment with them. Got there mid afternoon on Saturday ...... Quite taken aback to see tons of other people also there for the free makeover! Looks like there are many "lucky" people in Singapore hor. Anyway, was there for about 21/2 hour.

This is the result.

Pat & Me

They took about 30 pictures of us and they had to give us these 2 pictures! There were a few other better ones and they had to choose these 2. Told us that since these are free, we cannot get to choose the photos unless we sign up the package with them which cost from 700+ to 2000+! That's right you didn't read wrongly. REALLY! No obligation? *wink wink* Tried to sell us the packages, throwing figures and technical stuff at us. (Blah blah ..... 700+ only, you are only young once .... blah blah ..... 8 megapixiels, high resolution, 300dpi, blah blah blah .... can develop the pictures until poster size .....) yeah yeah .... That don't impress us much, you know. We do know our stuff okay.

Long story short ..... we didn't cave mainly because we don't have that kind of money to spare. :D So "beggars can't be choosers", and ended up with only these 2 shots of us.

Actually not that bad lah. At least we both dun look that unnatural in the pictures. Which is pretty rare. Look on the bright side, we have TWO photos of us together taken by a professional photographer for FREE! Yeaayy!

MORE junk in the house :p

Went to Commex this evening ...... Wah Biangz! Damn alotta people lor! Literally "People Mountain, People Sea!" Thought i was gonna DIE in there! NO OXYGEN! *Gasp Gasp*

But all is not in vain .......

Bought a brand new mouse! Latest in the market according to the salesperson. Not launched outside yet wor! :D

Presenting ......... MY NEW MOUSE!

It's a Logitech G5 Laser Mouse.

Comes complete with it's own casing for the weights!

Wwwaaaaahhhhhhh .......

It has adjustable weights to suit your needs, can adjust the sensitivity of the cursor from the mouse itself. The side of the mouse is texturized for grip. Ver fast and very smooth lor. Couldn't get use to it at first. But when adjusted to my preferance ...... heaven! Now to work on my Zuma games ..... Hee!

Very good, especially for gamers! Wah! Good for my Zuma games ..... :p
Spoilt like 2 mice because of playing too much Zuma, and Pat has to keep upgrading because of me. Oops! Pai seh... Thanks for spoiling me.:D

And pic of my new mouse with its companion Patrick Starfish.

Wahahahaha .............

Patrick is a Pez dispenser. Remember Pez sweets? :D Have not had Pez in donkey years manz! Use to eat this sweet when little. Favourite flavour? Strawberry lor! But the strawberry flavour taste a little different from what i remember leh.

So pleased today also because i finally finished buying the Strawberry Shortcake Vcd collection! Yeeaaaayy! I have all the vcds that are listed on the vcd sleeve. Not sure if they are gonna release more or not though ....... :(

Whole collection so far ..... all 8 of them.

Llluuurrrvvveeee .... Strawberry Shortcake when i was little. I can still remember ... my mom bought a Strawberry Shortcake water bottle, a set of blouse and pants (top = white, pants = red), tons of Strawberry Shortcake cereal (the cereal is pink of cos. Kinda look like the Post cereal "Strawberry Puffs" or something like that) last but not least, the like Strawberry Shortcake figurine.

And i'm so proud to say that i actually kept the figurine till now! The figurine should be 21 or 22 years old liao! It used to have strawberry smell on the figurine's hat. But now .... it just smells FUNK-KAY!

Nuff said!

All Better .........

O-LA!

feeling tons better than when i posted the previous blog about my laser treatment. And it has made me a "Pipi Long Stocking!" for a good 7 days!!!! Hated waking up and looking into the mirror only to be greeted by a spotty, reddish face. it's like "HELLO!" i dun even get such bad skin way back during puberty lor! But i told myself to look into the future ...... in the long run, i'll have nice nice skin. :D

here's the proof!

ME!

And me!

and me again .....

But i would have to find time again to go back for another round of laser treatment before the pesky pigmentation will be gone FOREVER! Initially was suppose to be next month, so that i can go for golf lessons also but i seem to be kinda tied up. Sigh ..... Back to the drawing board then. *sob sob*

Anyway ..... feeling kinda unproductive today so decided to put an entry in the blog. Not like blog writing is any more productive lor ..... wahahahahahaha .... siao!

Just read my friend Eamon's blog the other day when he posted it moments after he put it up IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT! He recently went on a trip to Hong Kong for 5 days.

The entries are all so loooooonnnnnngggggg and so many pictures to see until lao sai!

Bought my hubs a Initial D the movie box set and me a tee-shirt of 2 chipmunks. Cute! *Yeah* Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Paying Good Money To Have Our Faces "Tortured"

Made a short trip to Bangkok recently to have some laser treatment done on our faces ....... didn't managed to do much this time around. Mostly helping others to buy stuff. Not very "shiok". Bought some lousy tee shirts and dog treats for our precious little boy. :D

Managed to squeeze a round of golf @ All Star Driving Range. Right before our laser treatment the next day. After that we have to avoid the sunlight like vampires do. It's no fun doing that. Pretty much got no life. Cannot step out of the house till night time. *Sigh......*

All-Star Driving Range!

Now ..... that's mua trying to get my grip right and gain composure. Look pro or not! :D

After driving, Dad brought us for some R&R before dinner. Went to this place called PowerStation. It's a cafe officially owned by Harley Davidson Thailand!

THE HARLEY DAVIDSON CAFE

Some drool-worthy Harley bikes. Not too sure if they actually belong to someone there or is it for sale.

Mua & Dear posing with some Harley bikes. Trying to be motor show models! :p

Me trying very hard to pose.

Cute Sticker!

Went to this place called Coliseum for dinner. Thai people sure have a penchant for giving weird names for their businesses ...... WHY?! Can they handle it?!

Food is not bad. As usual, they have some sorta live band there. It's like a must lor for every restaurant, pub or even disco?! Too bad i didn't take pics inside.

In front of Coliseum

On the second last day before we head back to Singapore. Day of the scary laser treatment! *Gasp!* Brace yourself for some horribly mutilated pics of my face!

Went to Starbucks MBK for a cuppa to calm ourselves.

Okay ..... fine! It's not that bad. But it sure hurt like hell though .....

Dad called us in the evening. To meet him @ some pub along Sukumvit Soi 19 called "Country Road". Funny! You know ...... the place is called Country Road but they place Rock music. Dun ask.

Don't Do The Crime If You Can't Pay The Time

Sigh ....... paying big time for our yesterday's folly. Fish Head Curry YESTERDAY = Tons of down time in the lavatory TODAY. Loads of rumbling in the tummy ....... asses on fire ........ *bleah*

Went to try the iSqueeze today! MMmmmmmm .......... but still can't beat the magic hands of a REAL masseur. Bought the iPamper instead. Wah! Shiok! Pat has been using it on and off ever since we brought the gadget home. So typical; MAN! Hmm ...... wonder if can get him to use it on me instead. :D

Ah Boy & Cur-ri Fish Head

Send my dog to the vet bright and early this morning. To be castrated! Wahahahaha ...... after suffering 1&1/2 years of tyranny from him! Revenge is sweet ...... :D Doc said to pick him up @ 4pm. Hmmm ...... guess i'm gonna have a long day ahead.

Due to go Selene's house to see her second new born! A son! Got to her house rough and about 3+pm. Thanks to the bladdy construction going at Holland Area, almost got lost. After parking the car; not sure which way to head towards to .....; a right turn then a left turn then another turn before stumbling upon the lift to her place. PHEW!

Finally pick up our dog at 4pm, darn, the place is packed! (Mt Pleasant @ Clementi). There are lots of cats and dogs, hhmm, it rained cats and dogs? Anyway, collected our dog and he looks so groggy, poor thing.

Bought the dog home and went out for dinner. Headed to Marina Square to eat Samy’s Curry Fish Head. One word: SPICY! Overall, its good, for those who like Fish Head but not spice, you can ask for less spice but not non-spicy. Guess we gonna pay for it tmr… in the toilet… BIG TIME! ;p
